Team Tobati 2023 Projects and Activities
Team members will be working on the following projects alongside Paraguayan students from the Macchi School.
- New roof over front part of Macchi School
- Construction of water drainage canal at the Macchi School
- Expansion of stone sidewalk outside of the Macchi School
- Construction of new wire fence outside of Macchi School
- Construction of Soccer field behind the Macchi School, clearing, leveling land, planting grass, building goal
- Planting fruit trees at the Macchi School
- Clearing of wooded area behind the Macchi school, creation of trails, and placement of benches
- Maintenance of current two gardens at the Macchi School and the creation of a third garden Painting of wood for new desks at the Macchi School
- Painting of classrooms at the Macchi School
- Construction of Youth Center in downtown Tobati
- Hike up Tobati Cerro and visit to animal sculptures in Ysypo
- Guarani and Spanish Classes at the Macchi School.
- Cooking classes at the Macchi school
- Dance Practice at the Macchi School in preparation for the annual dance competition.
- Re-painting the large children’s park (constructed by Team Tobati) in Tobati’s church plaza in the center of town
- Distributing toothbrushes and soccer balls at schools throughout the district of Tobati
- Landscaping and soccer playing at the grade school in the San José Obrero neighborhood of Central, Tobati (This entire school was constructed by Team Tobati over a 7 year period)
- Working on Wood carvings in the village of Rosado, Tobati
- Working on leather production factory in Rosado, Tobati
- Working on pottery in 21 de Julio, Tobati
- Working at a small farm in rural Tobati (the home of Ariel Gonzalez)
- Working at small brick factory
- Working at large brick factory
- Visiting Tobati neighborhoods and eating lunch at the houses of Macchi School students
- Painting at the Parochial Home
- Painting of Trees in Tobati's Church Plaza in order to protect the trees from certain insects and tour of the church
- Decorating, cooking, and organizing a festival for the Macchi School students and families.
- Paint the Paraguayan Wyvern (primo to KOKO) outside the Macchi School
- Learning of traditional Paraguayan Dance to be performed at La Noche Paraguaya
- Learning of traditional Paraguayan Song to be performed at La Noche Paraguaya
